This cable belongs to my surround sound speakers and I think it broke off from it. I'm trying to find out the name of this cable so I can buy a replacement. Thanks.

  1. contact straightwire.com for a much better replacement!!!!

  2. The ‘interconnect’ that’s in photograph number DSCN3326 is referred to as a “link lead” by Tannoy. Tannoy’s “link lead” is nothing more than a jumper that is used to connect the individual high frequency and low frequency crossover terminals when the loudspeaker is NOT used in the ‘bi-wire’ or ‘bi-amp’ mode. Please see the following Tannoy Owner’s Manual for more information.

From what I can tell from the photographs that you’ve supplied the “link lead” jumper appears to be undamaged however you will need to replace at least one of the loudspeaker input terminals (aka binding posts or 5-way binding posts,) i.e., the part with the red color-coded clear plastic. I recommend ordering factory replacement parts—in your case a red color-coded binding post—from Tannoy.

If the original Tannoy “link lead” jumper is ever damaged you may want to consider repairing the original “link lead” jumpers or assembling your own replacement parts using the appropriate third-party banana plugs (and loudspeaker cable if necessary.)
