This marriage was part of Muslim Akbar's policy of reconciliation and assimilation of Hindus into the Mughal Empire. MARIUM-UZ-ZAMANI is often referred to as Jodhabai or Jodha Bai in modern times, although she was never actually known as Jodha Bai during her lifetime.
