What is the naming convention used for electric conductors i.e rabbit, drake, lynx,zeebra....etc?

it is actually Transmission line conductors used in transmission and distribution of Electricity . The animal names are given....may be depending on the characteristics of that particular animal....

  1. I'm not certain what you are asking, I believe those would be code words for various sizes of aluminum conductor, steel reinforced (ACSR) power transmission cables.

    By the way, the names can vary, I don't know it is by country or by manufacturer or what. The link above with names like Rabbit, Lynx and Zebra is in the UK, this US company: http://www.southwire.com/ProductCatalog/... is using bird names (including Drake)

    Also, in some places, all aluminum conductor (AAC) cables have insect names.
