  1. "Channel", "River" or "Creek" is a natural body of water that connects the two, a "Canal" is a man made one that does the same thing.

    Unless this is a trick question, then the answer would have to be a "Canal", because an enclosed sea has no exit and it would take an act of man to dig one out.

    An "Inlet" is a "Channel" with a dead end....

    A "Straight" is a body of water connecting two larger bodies water seperated by land, but is used improperly at times on charts because the Sea Captains that named the "Straight's", didn't know where they were at during the exploring of new areas.
