  1. The 2007 IRS allowance for business miles on a personal vehicle is $0.485 ( 48.5 cents) per mile.  Employers can reimburse at diffrent rates.  If an employer reimburses at a lower rate, you can file for the difference on your federal taxes.  If they pay more, which I've never heard of any company doing, you need to report the excess as income.

    (The medical rate is for patients traveling for medical attention, not for nurses traveling for work.)

  2. The government allows .33 cents a mile..im guessing that they wont pay anymore than that.
