  3. It is a sort of rotten / marinated herring that ages back to the Viking days and the way it is prepared creates urates so it actually smells as bad as it tastes. can't remember what its called exactly but Herring is ur answer

  4. its actually rotten shark meat and whale ,can you believ it,sounds disgusting!

  5. It is called Hakar, a fermented and very aromatic shark meat, salted and buryed until rotten, it is very popular dish, and as they are a Danish colony dishes like Rullapulsa a type of rolled lamb that is cured, they have a unique hot dog made from Lamb.

    As they have very little farmable land alot is imported, seafood is very popular, whale meat is not as available as it used to be, reindeer meat from Norway and Sweden is also very well known.

    I am a former chef and worked with a chef from Iceland back in the 1980's.

  6. When I asked my Dad, he said ' They eat whalemeat and blubber, and so would you, if you had to eat bloody whalemeat !' Get it ?!

    It is a partly-fermented whale-blubber, buried in the ground and left to "mature". Mind you, they are  going off it themselves these days!
