when i lived there i remember going to a drinks bar and only 1 out of 6 girls wore troditional suit. its all jeans and shirts these days in citys. however a girl would be a sinner wearing western clothes in a village still!

Not a particular dress,ppl wear different dresses acc. to their religion.

For ex:-Hindu women wear sharee

n men wear jeans shirt's or dhoti kurta's

sikh women wear salwar suit

n men wear kurta pyjama's or jeans or shirt's

And Muslim women wear yasmak upon their dress n men wear salwaar kameez

Acc. to the culture women of Rajasthan wear lehnga choli n men wear kurta dhoti n pagdi.

So, it is so difficult to explain any particular dress.

Sari is the national dress which is worn by women everywhere in India.....

Dhoti Kurta is the national dress which is worn by men in India....

The Sari for women and Shalwar Kameezes for men when they dress native.  Most dress in western garb now.

But only people in villages and small towns wear this regularly.

All others are westernise or similar to western culture now.
