    Japan:  sushi, sashimi, ramen, donburi, Japanese curry

    By region:

    Fukuoka Prefecture (福岡県) - Hakata Ramen (pork-based broth);

    Toyama Prefecture (富山県) - Masuzushi (salmon pressed on rice cake);

    Aichi Prefecture (愛知県) - Miso no komi (Udon in miso fish broth);

  2. Rice, Sushi, Ramen

  3. I dont think there is necessarily a national food for any country? I mean, what is the national food of America? Some might say hamburgers, some might say hot dogs, some might say steak. There could be many.

  4. i don't think there is any real national food for countries but it would be sushi HA HA HA

  5. sashimi, sushi,

  6. rice

  7. I teach Japanese food - and they are most famous for Sushi - raw fish or vegetables wrapped in cold sushi rice and seaweed - descends down from the Buddhist days in Japan. Ramin is popular a noodle in stock soup dish. They love raw fish again from the Buddhist times - so Sashimi is great small slivers of raw fish sometimes dipped in soya. They serve rice with most meals - mainly plain. Udon noodles are popular, made from wheat flour.

    But I would say Sushi is a national dish now as there is one on every street and 80% of Japanese eat it daily

  8. I would say Sushi.

  13. flied lice, sweehansowwwwerrrrr pohhk.. and plawn clackels.

  14. Probably more ramen than sushi, based on amount eaten. And the greatest Japanese food invention based on global impact should be instant noodles. Though it scores abysmally for good health & proper nutrition, it's a perfect ten as a convenience food. At this very moment, regardless of time differences, there are people tucking into instant noodles at home, work, camping trips, budget travellers in their hotel rooms, from breakfast to late nite suppers...
