  1. sounds arahbic to me

  2. http://www.familysearch.org/

Records used at familysearch.org are generally (not always) based in an original source, such as a transcription from a church register.  Running the name here, shows that the name appears in a number of different locations. Be careful to NOT ignore spelling variations.. the fact is that "your" spelling could be a variation of the original.  The records used at ancestry for their analysis, show in the fine print.. that they use the NY passenger lists.  That is a limited source, and may or may not refer to your ancestor.

In other words.. names in themselves, do NOT HAVE a nationality. Persons with the same name, frequently come from different origins.  I sense an assignment between the lines.. I read not long ago that many teachers now assign researching your family as a way to avoid plagiarism. Many of them won't realize that asking for the origins/ nationality of a name is not a valid question.

  3. "Most Laham immigrants to the US (12) came from Ireland. "
