  1. these people that say "the un-reliable method" p**s me off. If your period isn't 100% reguar then yes u will get pregnant.

If you dont want to take artificial pills then i recommend trying a diaphragm or something like that. works much better.

you could try the rhythm method. there are heaps of books on natural birth methods. get one and look at it. there's heaps of natural ways to keep "un-pregnant"

  2. "The Billings Method" or "The Rhythm Method"

Initially it was based on timing alone (which is the one most nay-sayers are talking about), using the fact that you ovulate 14 days before the first day of your next period. Then you avoid s*x for 3 - 5 days before, the day of and 2 - 3 three days after. That's because sperm can survive for a day or two inside, as can the egg.

However it was found that even regular women can have an odd cycle (throwing out the calculations) so the Advanced method was discovered.

The Advanced Billings (Rhythm) Method also charts the vaginal discharge and the vaginal temperature. There is a thin mucus discharge at the beginning of the time you are fertile, which thickens to an egg white consistency when you ovulate and disappears a day or two later. The vaginal temperature (taken in the morning before rising)  rises by 1/2degree C at the time of ovulation too. So by charting all three - period timing, vaginal discharge and vaginal temp. its possible to pinpoint when, and whether you ovulate in your cycle.

This information can be used to prevent an unwanted pregnancy, or improve the chances of conception if a baby is desired.

There are plenty of sites on the Net to fill in more detail or get a book, just make sure that it is "The Advanced Billings (Rhythm) Method".

  3. Pregnancy...

It's called the rhythm method, but if you get the rhythm wrong, and most do, you get pregnant.

Most women are fertile only about three days during the middle part of their cycle. Sperm can live two-to-three days in a woman's body. So, following the end of the menstrual cycle, you have about seven-to-10 days where women can't get pregnant. There is then a one week period where pregnancy is possible, followed by another period where women are infertile. Miss the count, though, and its pregnancy. Also, there are studies that show that many women release eggs at odd times in additon to the time of their cycle...

  4. abstinence is the ONLY safe natural way, you cannot trust your method stated fully, cycles differ even in the one woman from month to month.

  5. The rythm method. It works about 80% of the time if your periods are very regular. Its not a good stand alone method if you really don't want to get pregnant. And of course unprotected s*x can spread STDs.

  6. It is called the Rhythm method. But it is one of the most common ways to fall as well. It all depends on your cycle to be able to try it. If you have a regular cycle then you "might" be "safe" for a while but sometimes if you are "in the mood" are you really going to remember that you shouldn't be having s*x. There is a wide variety of contraception. I personally had the implanol  rod and find it works well. The best advice I can give you is to go see a gyno and talk to him/her about it and together you can work out the best contraception that will work for you

    good luck

  7. It is called the RYTHYM METHOD......look it up on any birth control site....

Basically you abstain from s*x on certain days before and after your menstrual period. BUT it only really works if your periods are regular(every 21-28 days)

It can also be used in reverse to plan a pregnancy.

BUT realize it is the least reliable method....condoms/spermicide & BC pills are 98-99%.

  8. i myself would never do this - unless i wanted 10 kids

  9. Billings method, it is not very successful no medical professional would recommend it, it works by learning your cycle and charting it and then not having s*x any time you are ovulating. There is also the rhythm method (pull-out), that is just as unsuccessful..

  10. Its called the "unreliable" method.
