  1. Natural remedies include warm milk, melatonin, valerian, 5-HTP and others that you can find in a web search for "natural sleep remedies".

  2. Try an aromatherapy bath with Lavender or Bergamot essential oils along with chamomile tea and melatonin. Valerian if used incorrectly can cause depression so be careful.

  3. drink celery juice and eat about 15 almonds at night......also rub clarified butter on soles of your feet, 3 minutes each, before sleeping.....

  4. Try a combination of valerian root and melatonin. Valerian smells, but works well, and if you take it and the melatonin together, you should be aboe to get some decent sleep.

If you've been having problems sleeping for awhile now, you might want to consider getting a sleep study done.

  5. Melatonin is a good way to cure insomnia.  Along with doing relaxing things before bedtime that don't stimulate you too much, you should get good results from this.

  6. Melatin is a great option, but you should supplement it with natural techniques.  There are great programs that explain in detail insomnia exercises!

  7. I take melatonin, which is a natural occuring hormone in humans.  No  side effects.

  8. In Chinese medicine, a common cause of insomnia is Liver Qi Stagnation as the Heart houses the mind during sleep and insomnia is often a sign of Heart Heat.  Liver disorders lead to Liver Heat that tends to rise and "attack the Heart", thus the "Dragon Rises" and causes insomnia.

There are many natural 'cures' that calm the mind and that soothe the Liver energy.

  9. i drink chammomile tea before bed and take herbal tablets with valerian, hops, passion flower and chammomile, all known for their calming effects.

  10. i am unsure of the causes but i would say a busy mind and you can decrease insomnia by : not eating 3 hours before you go to bed, eliminating caffeine from your diet, exercising in the mornings, not going on the computer or watching tv an hour before you go to bed, not having a tv in your room, not checking the clock when you are trying to sleep , reading before you go to bed, taking Valerian Root pills - they naturally induce sleep, drinking sleepytime tea helps me too
