What is the navy life like? I am considering the finance/accounting field?

Do you have to swil qual? How hard is the job? Do you have to be on ship most of your enlistment? Can you get station in UK? Will you have any time to do college? How hard is it to pick up rank?

  1. You have to be able to swim.  The jobs usually require more hours than any civilian job, although that depends on the assignment.  During a four year enlistment, you can expect to spend about a year and a half out at sea.  Time to do college courses will again depend on the assignment.  Picking up rank in the navy is, for the most part, easier than in the other branches.  But that will depend on which rate you choose.


  2. Why the Navy? you can go to other branches.

    Just me but i think of g*y men on a boat.

    And its the Gayvy thats how its made fun of


  3. No matter which branch you enlist in they'll put you where they want to..not really your choice even at the officer leval unless you go in with a specific expertize.

    If the want the most civilian life style join the airforce and hope for a US based billet.You'll get lots of free time to get an off base job or go to school on thier dime.
