I read an article once about how the brain can have a reaction when in bad or near death experiences that mimics an animal standing still before prey. A boat capsized and a man recalled seeing almost everyone giving in to death and sitting still. Only some of them were able to snap out of it. Does anyone know what this reaction in the brain is called?
