  1. Charles de Gaul - the main airport.

  2. paris de gaul

  3. yep, airport code-  CDG

  4. Sorry Goggy71, Em x and Dracotei but it is not CDG.

Orly airport  is 19 km from the center of Paris and is therefore the closest.

CDG is 28 km from the center.

  5. Hi, that depends.  Charles de Gaule International (Airport code CDG) also known as Roissy Airport is easier to get to.  It is about 20-30 minutes from Gare du Nord by RER train.  It is located North of Paris.

Another airport is Orly which is located South of Paris.  Orly is a little closer but is more difficult to get to (takes about an hour when there's any traffic).

Also, another reason to favor CDG is it is larger and has many more flights than Orly.

Roissy is a bit closer for most of Paris and has more flights (its a much larger airport).  But you can find good fares at Orly (Vueling for example) as there are several smaller airlines available at Orly.

So, as the crow flies, Orly is "closer" but CDG is realistically closer as its right on at least two RER lines.  Orly is more problematic to get to in my experience.

  6. charles de gaul

  7. Charles de Gaul is the nearest.

  8. My friend Rillifane is correct about the distance.

I live in Paris and travel a lot. I ALWAYS try to book flights that enable me to go in and out of Orly as much as possible. It is less confusing, less congested, and faster to get in and of, but it depends on where in Paris you are destined as the routes vary. I live in the 6th, Latin Quarter area and Orly is definitely best.
