  1. 10k monthly income in cali

  2. It all depends on the price of the house and the car and their respective interest rates.

  3. Depends

    location for house

    new or used for car

    practical or impractical

  4. Depends on the house and car! And where you live, etc.

    Minimum - 30 grand a year.

  5. Enough to afford payments for those, insurance for both, taxes for the house, and maintenance and day to day expenses.  Actual costs will depend on your standards, location, and availability of houses and cars in your area.  You could buy a crackhouse on the cheap, but doubt you'd want to live there. You could buy a Beverly Hills mansion, but if you have to ask... (..."then you can't afford it", yes, yes). You could buy a used Gremlin for cheap (but you'd probably be sinking a lot into repairs)... or a BMW sport convertible if you were well-off.

Taxes, insurance, and utilities add quite a bit to the total. Remember, you would have electricity, gas, water, sewer, trash removal, telephone, cable, internet, homeowner's insurance; for a car, automobile insurance, gas, oil changes, windshield wipers, registration fees every year, inspections every year, tire replacements, and intermittent repair bills.
