Looks like you are referring to wireless router security. You have to set it yourself. What you have to do is login to your router configuration and set it there you can do this by opening a browser and going to 192.168.1.1, assuming you already have a wireless router. If you don't have a wireless router there's no need to set it.

The common types of wireless security is the WEP and WPA, WEP stands for Wired Equivalent Privacy and WPA is Wi-Fi Protected access, most newer wireless routers comes with both type of security. If you have a router, please let me know what brand and model you have.

Assuming you're talking wireless...you should look for a CD that came with your wireless router.  I have a CD, that reminds me which url to type into my internet browser, at which point I need a password to access the wireless settings.  Deep in that mess is the WEP (I think), the password that you need to access that wireless signal.  If you haven't changed it, there may be a default that you can get from the CD or by calling them.
