  1. l131

  2. After getting your I-130, you need to complete it, complete a G-325 for both you and your relative, and submit all documents and pay the fee ($355) to the US Embassy. After you submit everything to the Embassy, they will review everything, give you a brief interview, then you wait for an approval (we got approved the same day), and they will give you a packet that tells you how to apply for and what documents are needed for the immigration visa, plus who the approved doctors for the medical exam are. They will also do a background check (took less than a week for mine) on the US Citizen.

After you receive your Immigration instruction packet in the mail, you start gathering all documents required and fill out the necessary forms. You will need to fill out a DS-230, and I-864. The documents you will need include (apply only to the intending immigrant): birth certificate, police records, passport, military records, marriage certificate, medical exam, etc. All documents MUST be translated into English. Once you have all documents and paperwork, you send the Embassy notice that you have everything and they will set up a meeting for your immigration visa interview.

When you go the the immigration interview, they will collect all documents from you, you pay the fee ($380), and they will conduct the interview. They should let you know right then and there if you are approved or not (they let us know at that time).

    Hope that helped. Good luck!
