Me and my partner are thinking of moving to Leicester and wondering what the nicest area is to live in.

We definately DO NOT want to live on a council estate or an ex council estate.

Does anyone who lives near or in Leicester or knows the area well have any suggestions?

  1. My cousin live in Rothley - a really small village just outside Leicester - it is lovely -really quiet....but within 20mins you are in the centre of leicester.

  2. Well, I live about 20 from the town so I might not be able to answer your question exactly if you didn't want somewhere that's right in Leicester. I live near a HORRIBLE area, Saffron Lane estate but I actually live in Aylestone which isn't too bad. Knighton is alright, but trust me, you probably wouldn't want to live somewhere right in Leicester- it's like chav heaven! :'(

  3. I used to live in "Coalville" Its a pretty sweet little village but I dunno if it's the best area!?!

  4. I worked in Leicester last year near the University and racecourse. It was a very nice area but quite a distance from the city centre

  5. I have lived in Groby for 20 years, it is a lovely village and is situated ideally for the A46,M1 and the A50.Lovely schools, nice village pub and you can be in the centre of Leicester in 10 minutes. Its on the edge of charnwood forest and near to bradgate park, the home of lady jane grey.

  6. Hinkley is a lovely village area....Has some lovely local pubs and restaurants. The schools are excellent for the children and your close for the M69 motorway connection.
