I've heard that the night life is dead and its impossible for a man to enjoy clubbing or even meeting women! My sister's husband is working there and she has reason to believe that he is being unfaithful. Also is there a place named l'ecluse and how much would it cost to eat there for one person?

  1. well im not from Riyadh, so as I dont know about that restaurant you named.. but I wouldnt worry about your friend starving.. there are so many western brand chain restaurants and local restaurants, if he doesnt cook, he will be fine..

There isnt night life in SaudiArabia compared to the west. This country goes by a strict Islamic moral code of conduct. We dont have night clubs, bars, disco's, pubs, etc.. No alcohol, no mixing of genders, no dating. .. Here you dont date prior to marriage.. So your sisters husband wont have a chance to even worry about being unfaithful... Sure you read stories (like a question just before yours) where some men (I think that yahoo user was over exagerating a bit), but claims uptight Saudi ladies give their phone numbers out to unsuspecting western men.... I am not niave, maybe it happens on a whim, but not like this man claims.. (must think he is a stud. hahahahaha!)... Anyways.. the only recreation for men is pool halls, internet cafe's.. sheesha restaurants (the water pipe thingy called hookah).. and dune buggying in the desert hills... fishing along the sea coast (well not in Riyadh) and meeting other men socially.. not much more..

  2. Night life means nothing in Saudi Arabia.

  3. there is no life at night.

ha, that sounded cool, but like the first comment said, there isn't any in the way you mean it

  4. night life in Riyadh!!!!

You got to be joking!!!Riyadh is all male society

Ok ,,,There is nightlife but not of what you thinking of

    >> There is No dancing

    >>No drinking

    >>No gender mixing

It is all about  seeking some restaurant or take away or just go picnicking  in the the desert nearby , enjoying desert breeze..Make sure u get covered up though if u are a lady .You can also  play desert soccer or drink the day out (( just tea and coffee))with family  in some garden or zoo..

  5. Clubs and those matters are forbidden in Saudi Arabia, and Riyadh is the strictest city concerning night clubs and any form of that activity. Your sisters husband would have a generally hard time being unfaithful due to the strong power of the committee for the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice.

However it's possible to fall into the wrong crowds, yet that is a minimum.

During the nights most people go out, families usually. Because it's hot in the day, most people will be out late at night enjoying much of the night life (not clubbing and vices) such as shopping and going to parks and things like that.

  6. .....not much.....night life for expats is eating dinner, surf the net or watching TV then sleeping.....every night that's what we do on weekdays.....
