  1. this clock tells you by the day, week ,month or year.

An area the size of Switzerland P/A ,in the Amazon alone

500.000 hectares per year in Mexico,

800 trees( at a very rough average per hectare) in a jungle

In a plantation about half of that ,because they are evenly spaced and at measured distances,to maximize growth

a lot depends on the type of trees

Pines grow a lot closer than Mangoes for example.

Shade grown Coffee is planted 2 meters apart, under a tree cover of trees planted 8 meters apart ,this is quite dense

coconut 10,unless they are clump planted as they do in the Philippines.then they are in circles of 15 odd meters diameter but planted neck to neck.so that makes a lot of coconut palms ,the dwarf species are even more.

,and mango is 12 to 15  meters apart

Jungles are much denser and many different species ,of different highs so that the crowns ,of smaller trees fit under the very tall ones, making them much more compact.

these are the growths that we are destroying.

Often to make space for other  Mono culture forests like Palms for oil  other types of mono culture farming,or expanding Urbanization, and to harvest the exotic timber in the process.

    OR

Also for the chain saw like Pines,Roblers,Paulownia,Ceder,Eucaliptus  and many others

which are grown for the timber and are also cut down

(so technically are also numbers of trees being cut down,

these will be different figures super imposed over the deforestation numbers)

    --------------------------------------...

in 300 years we have lost HALF of all the forests on the planet

In the last 50 years HALF of all rain forests,

which had been left alone before that.

In the more distant past Spain was largely deforested to build the Spanish Armada ,

Lebanon became a desert because of the building of the Phoenicians trading fleet,

To deforest on the equator is fatal because re growth under a hot sun with out water is practically impossible  ,That is why large parts of the Sahara are the Sahara

Ghengas Kahn burned all the forests of the countries he conquered and filled the wells with sand turning huge Areas into deserts

So our civilization is not the only deforesting one ,

But Ghengas would have been impressed with us

    --------------------------------------...

forget about a graph with the number of trees ,to many variables

Just make a graph on hectares and forests that will be impressive enough

and list the variable factors apart.

And split it up into climatic regions

don`t forget you can have for example all of the climatic regions in one place because of elevation

like in the Kogis world in the Andes.
