What is the number on the back of my jet ski?

i was looking at my sea-doo bombardier jetski and on the far back right i saw i small serial number. it is not on the side of the jetski but on the top part where the third rider back may put there feet.

what is this number, what is it used for and can i look up my jet ski with it?

  1. Yes, its the HIN, hull identification number.

    ZZN is the manufacturers code, means its a seadoo.

    next 6 or 7 numbers are the serial number.

    Then there will be something like L697. We will use this as an example.

    The letter "L" is the month of manufacture, "A" being Jan. "B" being Feb., etc.

    The 6 is the year of manufacture, 1996.

    The 97 is the Year model.

    So L697 means it was manufactured in December 96 and is a 97 year model.
