What is the number one issue in this election?

I think we spend way too much time worrying about morality issues of the politicians. We watch Bush/Chaney bankrupt the country, put us into a war we can't win, issue no bid contracts to Haliburton, but all we want to talk about is a VP candidate that has a pregnant daughter.

I say getting the manufacturing industry back into our country and our of eastern Asia, should be number 1.

yeah... economy is big... Obama seems to be the only one that wants to work on trade deals... doesn't want to cut out trade, but rework them, since they are horrible now...

if you want to try and solve the economy the same way it got messed up... vote for McCain all day... Bush cut taxes big time on the wealthy, and the economy went into the crapper... McCain promises more of the same...

Illegal immigration. The economy will be better within a few years but illegal immigration will affect America forever.

Illegal immigration is extremely detrimental to America. California is already running out of water because of the huge population growth due to illegal immigration.

Obama is cutting taxes for people who make under 250,000 a year...and if u go back and look at his speech he explained that.

basically by getting rid of programs that don't work and tighting up the programs we already have..

cutting walfare and giving it to thoes people who really need it, while helping them find a job to get off of it.

You're right. The economy, getting new industry and maintaining and increasing the middle class is a priority.  Education is very important for this, and everyone needs to have affordable healthcare.  I think Obama will be superior for all these things.  

McCain is promising to continue the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest (that's change), which will just plunder the treasury more, and of course offers no plans to pay for this.  Even McCain said the tax cuts for the wealthy offended his conscience at one time.

The economy is looking like the main topic.  We thought it would be the war in Iraq for years but now the economy is in trouble and Iraq is second.  I couldn't predict who would win.  It's neck and neck right now.

The economy, and I am hoping that McCain will make those tax cuts permanent.  My business will end up cutting back, and I will have to lay  people off if Obama has his way with raising taxes. These people pay taxes now. His agenda would only hurt the poor.
