There are people who stop breathing at 350 mg/dl, and I've run into a few who'd reliably go into withdrawal at that level but tolerate 550 quite well.

By the way, any time you see the LD50 for humans, look at it with a jaundiced eye. We just can't generate the numbers for a reliable determination even with common drugs like alcohol.
