What is the ocean like in Los Angles and San Diego in April?

My daughter lives in San Diego. Even in August, the water is really cold! It is freezing to me in April. I am used to the warm Gulf of Mexico waters. I tried swimming in August 4 years ago. It was really chilly. But, beautiful.

The water temperature here is an almost constant 65 to 70 degrees, regardless of the time of year.  Most people consider that cold.  People who surf or otherwise spend a long time in the water usually wear wetsuits throughout the year.  It's refreshing and definitely doable for short periods of time, though.

a little chilly! if you have a wetsuit it might be okay, but it's way beter in the summer.
