To join the navy as a marine biologist do I just need a degree and then to go through OCS or some direct commissioning program like they have for doctors?

  1. I cannot find anything from any other source about this.

To the best of my knowledge, the Navy does not have Marine Biologist.  All biological research is usually contracted out for all branches of the DOD.

I am in the Army, and I deal with the Army ITAM program which is an environmental program.  All of our Biologist are contractors.  The DOD seems to no longer having specialized military people doing environmental/biological stuff en masse.

I hope you find your answer.  Please post it if you find it in private.
