What is the old film with a massive white devil in the sky?

I remember when I was little (1996?) There was a film on the TV when I woke up during the night that my Dad was watching. It was an old film even then, probs on something like TCM or another old movie channel. Basically all I remember is: There is a white devil in the sky, I believe it is in a desert environment and there are some people hiding in a wooden building and another on top of a metal structure shouting (possably at the devil). This picture is as I remember the devil.

Could someone please tell me the name of the film?

It could be the old version of "The Mummy." That sounds like a scene from the remake.
