  1. The oldest network of cities, pre-dating Mesopotamia (6,000 years old), was in Turkey, known as Catalhoyuk, which was from 8,000 years ago!

Human skeletal remains in their entirety, have been found in Israel, dating to 90,000 years ago, and of course there's "Lucy", the A. afarensis (missing link) who was found in Central Africa. She is dated to 3.3 million years ago!

  2. As no one can agree on what defines "civilisation"... defining the oldest depends on your definition.  For example, do you define "civilisation" as the written word?  Or do you consider an agrarian community as the start of civilisation?  Most scholars generally agree that Mesopotamia is the oldest recorded civilisation in the World.

As for the oldest skeleton... paleontologists have found dinosaur skeletons that are billions of years old.  So they'd have to rate as the oldest "skeleton".

  3. well in terms of the oldest civilization, you would have to give credit to the mesepotamia region, the southern portion to be exact, dating to roughly 6000 b.c followed shortly (give or take 2000 years)by the egyptians and the indus valley and harrapan cultures of india. that is strictly basingcivilization of the text book version, of strictly sedentaery life, agriculture and pastorialism. as well as the written word.

as for the oldest known skeleton, the most complete, best preserved and most well known would be "Lucy, found by david johanson in ethiopia, part of Austrolopithicus afarensis(dating to 4-3million years ago). however this is in no way the oldest, since recently there have been excavations in asia reveling hominid remains back to 7million years. so as new pieces are being pulled out of the ground, new evidence comes to life pushing back hominid eveloution and expansion back toward 10-12 millionyears ago. but as to the earliest, missing link for evolutionary lines, with only 10% of all known artifacts and less % of remains surviving to be found :we may never know.
