With the cost of power going up so much, it occured to me that maybe I do not need to allow my freezer free access to electricity. I am thinking about using a timer to set when the freezer can be on. (obv to save leccy) but I was wondering if my plan would be efficient. ( the old argument of the flourescent lamp left on or switched off and on a lot ). If I only allowed my freezer to be on at night when it is cooler, would I use less leccy?

  1. your food will most likely go off or your freezer will pack up probs not the best idea

  2. It uses a thermostat to regulate the temperature and therefore the amount of electricity  used so it is better to leave it switched on.

  3. thats a good question, you should ask this in the environment or living green section, id like to see the answer then!

  4. 16 nano seconds

  5. suggest you keep freezer on when you have food you wish to keep frozen. :@)

  6. if it full keep it on ,if its half full ,fill the space with empty card board boxxes ,if its near empty, you gonna starve;-)

  7. What if you forget and leave your refrigerator off accidentally?  I don't know the answer to your question, but if you can get away with it, I'd at least have a timer to turn your refrigerator on and off automatically.
