I have seen this weird orange stuff like in my cats ear, behind its ear and on it's head.......so i tried to pick it off and i got one of it on my finger , they look a bit like lentils and it started crawling aroung my finger (they are smaller than lentils) What is this? Is this dangerous? Should I go to the vet? What can I do about it?

  1. It sounds like your cat has ear mites. You can take the cat to the vet if you want but there are preparations for getting rid of them you can get at any pet store. Just don't let it go on too long. The mites do irritate the cat's ears and the scratching the cat does can cause a blood vessel in the ear to burst.

  2. More than likely, it's harvest mites. Definitely take your cat to the vet as soon as possible, so that he/she can get treatment and get rid of them.
