  1. in my school it was:

    white

    yellow

    orange

    blue

    blue tip

    green

    green tip

    purple

    purple tip

    brown

    brown tip

    red

    red tip

    chodanbo (dark navy blue)

    black belt 1st degree.

  2. depends on some masters. my master used this order

    white

    yellow

    yellow black

    green

    green black

    blue

    blue black

    red

    red black

    junior black

    brown black

the black belts going from 1st DAN to i think 10th DAN

  3. Without knowing what organization you are affiliated with, it is impossible to know which set of colored belts you will experience. However, there should be 10 colored grades or Gups (Geups in some organizations), and 9 Black Belt, or Dan, ranks. The colored belt ranks should be broken up into two grades per belt color: for example, ITF rankings are White; White/Yellow Tag; Yellow; Yellow/Green Tag; Green; Green/Blue Tag; Blue; Blue/Red Tag; Red; Red/Black Tag. Grades go from 10th (White Belt) to 1st (Red Belt/Black Tag). Dan Ranks are One through Nine, with 1-3 considered Novice ranks, 4-6 considered Expert ranks, 7-8 considered Master Ranks, and 9th Degree, which takes somewhere around 36 years of continous study to attain, considered Grand Master Rank. There is no 10th Degree rank in Tae Kwon Do, and there are precious few authentic Grand Masters.

there will be varied opinions as to the varacity of the above information, but these are the grade and rank levels established By General Choi, Hong Hi, considered to be the "father" of Tae Kwon Do. Unfortunately, the political climate and honor-based society he lived in resulted in a number of "disagreements" between himself and those he worked with to establish Tae Kwon Do as a recognized martial art form, so there exists many different schools of thought on what is "authentic" Tae Kwon Do. In some schools that have lineage to people whom general Choi fell out of favor with, his influence in the formation of Tae Kwon Do, even his existence, is not recognized.

  4. white

    yellow

    green

    green1

    blue

    blue1

    red

    red1

    black

  5. every organization has a different order. dont listen to people who says its this or that. it differs from org, to org.

when i studied it, it was

    white

    orange

    yellow

    camouflage

    green

    blue

    purple

    brown

    red

    red/black

    black (1-10 dan)

  6. At my school there are serveral belt levels.  I'm at green.

    white

    yellow

    high yellow

    orange

    high orange

    green

    high green

    blue

    high blue

    purple

    high purple

    brown

    high brown

    red

    middle red

    high red

    black

The high belts the colored belts just with black stripes though it. Middle red is a red belt with a white stripe though it.

At my school if your under 15 even you would get a junior black belt. The one thing I don't think is fair is that when junior black belts test (test at my school are 3 month time period) they get their 1st degree black belt. While if you're over 15 when you get your black belt you have to wait a full year before ranking up.

  7. Colored belts are called "Gups"

    Black Belts are called "Dans"

Youth Black Belts are called "Pooms"

You start as a white belt or a 9th Gup.

It counts down from there up to 1st Gup, which is usually a red belt or a red belt with a black stripe.

The actual colors for each gup will vary from school to school, but here are the typical ones.

    9th Gup - White

    8th Gup - Yellow

7th Gup - Orange or Yellow with a stripe

    6th Gup - Green

    5th Gup - Blue

4th Gup - Purple or Brown

3rd Gup - Brown or Brown with stripe

2nd Gup - Red or Brown with two stripes

1st Gup - Red or Red with Black stripe

Sometimes there is a "Bo Dan", which means temporary or deputy black belt.

Then you go to 1st Dan black belt, then it counts up from there.

  8. I don't what organisation your club belongs to but in mine(taekwondo Australian club) its

    white

    yellow

    yellow 2 stripes

    yellow 3

    blue

    blue2

    blue 3

    red

    red2

    red3

    chodanbo or black

  9. Until you get to Black Belt, there is no standard structure to the belt system.  Colors change from Kwan to Kwan, Association to Association and even school to school.

Genrally speaking though, the 5 basic colors everyone uses are:

    White

    Yellow (or Gold or Orange)

    Green

    Blue

    Red

    Black

Ask a senior student in your next class what the specifics are for your school.

  10. The way it gose is that its the color belt then a white stripe but not for the black belts they have a yellow strip at the end

    So its

    white

    yellow

    orange

    green

    blue

    purple

    brown

    red

    red\black

    then  blacks
