I'd recommend you to watch it in its original broadcast order, as it was mean to be watched first. The chronological order is best if you're looking for more adventures, connect-the-dot thing for even better experience in watching Haruhi.

i downloaded all the english subs right before they took it off all torrent trackers (because it was licensed) but if i put it up for you i could get in big trouble from all partys =.= so you're best bet is youtube or asking a friend to burn a cd

you should watch it in the order that was aired since that was what haruhi wanted and you should listen to her
