And d**n I am smart!  LOL

That WAS tricky! I had to really think about the years.

  2. You can put these in the correct order.

1588 - Against all odds, the English defeated the greatest navy in the world, the Spanish Armada.

1632, Charles the first granted a charter to his friend, the Catholic aristocrat John Calvert, also known as Lord Baltimore, for a colony that was to become Maryland (as in Mary, the mother of God), a colony intended as a refuge for English Catholics.

1565 - The first permanent European colony in North America is founded by the Spanish at St. Augustine, Florida.

1732 - A British general and noted philanthropist of colonial America, James Oglethorpe founded the Georgia Colony.

1607 - The Virginia Company explorers landed on Jamestown Island, to establish the Virginia English colony on the banks of the James River 60 miles from the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay.

  3. OK.

I am assuming that you are talking about Admiral Nelson's victory at Tralfagar.

    So here is my guess:

Admiral Nelson's victory over the Spanish Armada, first.

A Catholic Aristocrat, Queen Isabella?  Second.

Jamestown is third.  A company of investors...

Settlers from the West Indies... fourth

English colony for imprisoned debtors, Carolina, fifth.  Unless you are talking about Australia, then the order is changed.
