I can't define "history".. I can tell you there was a John and wife Mary Lehotan, who had sons John and Joseph, all born in "Bohemia" before immigrating about 1903.  Daughters Bertha and Mildred were born in Ohio..  This family lived in Cleveland, in the 1920 census.  

If that is your ancestor, that's the story.

This is probably Czechoslovakian, from census reports.   Not many listed in ancestry.com, and no meaning found.
