    "Catherine Baillon" is an interesting search term to use to begin with.  I've included one of the "hits" below.

  3. The original spelling is Baillon or Bayonne and it's a French name. It come from the town of Bayonne in Aquataine. When you go back to the 1600s and 1700s, it was written "de Baillon" or "de Bayonne". Over time, the "de" disappeared and the spelling was simplified.
