I've lived in California all my life and never understood. Please be as detailed as possible, e.g. history, causes, culture, perpetuating circumstances, etc.

  1. There is a rivalry but as my fellow SoCal resident said, it isn't taken seriously by us in the south.  Much of it centers around our taking water from the North.  Some in the north think they are more important than they are and would deprive Los Angeles water.

  2. I live in Southern Cal, and there is no "Rivalry." What are you talking about?? No one down here really cares about NorCal, and they probably don't even care about us either.

  3. So Cal is more populous, and therefore has really fouled us up politically.

It's mostly their votes that have given us the scum bags we usually have in the govorner's mansion. They put through really disguting propositions.

I live in the SF bay area -- we are always voted down on every important thing.

That and the fact that when I say I'm from California, people assume I'm a beach-bunny.
