  1. well, the name comes from an Italian explorer who went to China in the 1300's....I'm guessing the name comes from that....some kids were playing and they were exploring and Marco Polo was the headline of the day....it's basically a cop-out for hide and seek anyway! And, if played in water, you're exploring on water like Marco Polo!
