I was wondering if anyone knows the origins of the last name (surname) Rahgozar? Like what ethnicity/heritage/part of the world it is from?

According to articles on the Internet, an Iranian student living near Sacramento, CA . was beaten up.  His surname is Rahgozar.

Have you heard of Mahi Rahgozar?  He is in the film industry and his films deal w/ Iran and Afghanistan.

Ancestry.com does not seem to have enough people w/ the surname to analyze the origin of Rahgozar. But, based on the info. I found, it would seem that Iran and Afghanistan would be the most likely option.

To know for certain you would have to backtrack and cobble together a family tree.
