  1. The original name for boeing is.....

    ****Drum roll please****

    Boeing

  2. The Boeing Company is a major aerospace and defense corporation, originally founded by William E. Boeing.

  3. There are many versions on how Boeing got its name... In Singapore alone, there are two versions.

Here's one version... Boeing actually started in Singapore.. the name was derived when an ang moh aviation officer wanted to start his own aviation company... he asked his local technicians what he should name it... a hokkien man shouted "Bo-eng lar" (translates into English as "not free")... Hence the name, Boeing...

Another version was... Boeing was founded in Singapore by an ang moh named "Bo"... when registering the company, the clerk at RCB (Registrar of Companies & Businesses) asked the business owner, "Sir, what would be the name of your company?" And Mr Bo replied, "Bo Engineering"... However, when the RCB Cetification of Incorporation was printed, it only appeared as "Boeing" (Singapore is known for acronyming everything)...

  4. William Edward Boeing
