What is the (original) Latin version of this quote by Thomas A Kempis ?

"God often gives in one brief moment that which He has for a long time denied."

The English version is all over the internet but Thomas A Kempis definitely did not speak English but LATIN during the Middle Ages... So I would like to find the correct original Latin quote

(I know I could translate the English one into Latin but I want the original)
