  1. The sun. That is unless you go all the way back to the BIG BANG.

  2. the big bang

without it you would not have the heavier elements needed to form earth or the sun.

  3. Most is from the sun, but you also have the heat that is generated in the earth's core. ocean waves carry some energy too.

  4. Hydrogen atoms.

  5. The sun and then green plants and from those two things we got everything relating to energy.

  6. Geologists used to believe that there was a hot accretion of the earth.  Now a cold accretion is generally more accepted.  With the cold accretion, hydrocarbons, particularly methane was present in the upper couple of hundred miles of crust and mantle.  These hydrocarbons upwelled due to their volatile nature and low density.  These encountered a deep biosphere that produced more complex hydrocarbons, encountered reducing environments (low oxygen states) where coal formed, or encountered water at high pressure and formed methane hydrate deposits in the ocean. This accounts for the so called fossil fuels.  Radioactive isotopes decaying is responsible for some of the earth's interior heat as well as the original heat when it formed.  It takes a long time to cool since it is many thousands of miles thick so it retains it heat very well.

  7. The Big Bang ...
