i know a car battery puts out 12 volts (gasoline engines)

what about cars with an electric motor?

  1. Depends on the motor. Power is volts x amps. The main problem with batteries is providing enough amp hours.


  2. They will use standard batteries ,but that is not the problem. The weight is what kills the electric car. It does not have enough power so they want to double the batteries. They don't consider that they have almost doubled the car weight.

  3. The EV1 used either 26 12v lead/acid batteries or 26 13.2V Nickle metal Hydride Batteries  so 312V or 343.3V respectively.
