    Itta is the past form of iu (to say, to call) 言う

  3. It's not "itta" (いった). That is the past tense of either the verb 言う ("iu"), the verb 要る ("iru"), the verb 入る("iru").

    The いる you want is 居る (though the kanji writing is not often used) and has past tense forms or いた and いました.

    There are also some other verbs with the say reading and conjugations as いる such as 射る and 鋳る but these mean respectively "to shoot" and "to cast".
