  1. The phrase "how long is a piece of string" comes to mind...

A new pilot in thier first job (1st officer for a regional airline) would be earning very little compared to a lot of other jobs... in the US, it's about $28,000. However, as time goes on, the pay goes up quite a lot... in 8 years you'd most likely be a captain earning $128,000... Then perhaps you could move to a major airline and start flying jets... and ultimately earn up to $300,000 as a training captain.

Different airlines also pay different salaries... and flying jets is better paid than flying turboprops... It al depends where your career takes you!

  2. It depends on what flights you are doing. For example, a pilot who does a daily shift from Luton to Glasgow earns far less than a pilot who regularly does transatlantic flights such as Heathrow to Sydney.

  3. for the third time this week....

for the rest (I know it's hard), do a search on this website and find out how many times people ask that a week.

Come on man, is it that hard to do a little research yourself? It's even less work than typing the entire question...
