i have a computer that is connected directly with the internet cable. if you use a labtop it automatically searches for networks to use for the internet. what im looking for is a "receiver" that would allow the pc to search for the internet as well, rather than it be connected directly with a cable.

what is this device called and plz include links for it with future shop or something

thanks for the help :)

  1. You mean a Wi-Fi card? Here:

    PCI card - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

    USB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

  2. As Wes stated above, you'll need to install a wifi card into your PC.  Additionally, you'll need a wireless router connected to your cable modem to allow your computers to "find" your internet connection.

  3. i think your talking about a modem or wireless router unless its a receiver chip where you can use someone elses internet. not sure how to create a link srry
