What is the penalty for driving without L plates?

I was driving around with my friend who is 22 and has held a full license for 4 years, we drive around alot of the time as i am quite expirienced yet can't manage to pass a test.

Whilst driving i got pulled over by the police and they gave me a producer, after talking to the police i realised i didn't have any L plates on, which was an honest mistake!

I am insured on the car and was driving with a supervised adult.

Can you please let me know what i will expect to be fined/convicted with on me arrival at the police station?

Thanks!

  1. The maximum penalty is a £1000 fine and up to six points on your licence it will depend on the mood of the magistrates on the day but the normal penalty is about £100 and 3 points.

  2. Every state is different , I know in my area, 200- 400 . But you would have to go to court.
