What is the penalty for going over your 3 months Turkish visa.?

I have a british passport and need to know the fine or penalty for going over the alotted three months time allowed .

  5. A visa is required for British nationals to enter Turkey.

    Foreigners are frequently detained for overstaying in Turkey.  It is not recommended.  If you overstay your visa you will be delayed, questioned, and fined upon departure. The fine can vary according to length of overstay: an overstay of one month currently incurs a fine of 166 New Turkish Lira, about 62 pounds.



    If you claim you can't pay, you can be imprisoned until you acquire enough funds from friends or family to do so.
