What is the penalty for providing false harrasment charges to the police?

My girl friend and i got into an argument and she thought that teh best way to deal with it was to report me to the police saying that i was harrasing her constantly and showing up to her place unanounced and that i would not leave her alone. such accusations are frivolous. under pennsylvania law what is the legal pennalty for commiting and act of harrasment towards me like that. the police warned me that i should not go near her home or work or i would be arrested. which i have no problem in doing cuz i dont wanna see her face again. but i hate the fact that i am restrained from some areas. what if i see her at a grosery store. she will try to say that i followed her there and get me arrested.
