I just noticed that it ran out at the end of last month and have plans to go riding tommorrow. What would happen if I got stopped for it?

  1. 306(b) Uninspected Motor Vehicle: Less than 60 days $ 25 - $ 50 0

    Uninspected Motor Vehicle: More than 60 days $ 50 - $ 100

  2. You'll get a ticket for an un-inspected vehicle.

The fine will be minimal and no points on your license.

You'll have a specified amount of time to get your bike inspected (about 2 weeks) and mail the inspection sticker # to the ticketing agency to show proof of inspection.

If you fail to get your bike inspected in the allotted time, the bike's registration will be suspended and you'll have to surrender the license plate to the DMV.

You have to get your bike inspected anyway, if you don't mind taking the risk of getting a $30 fine, I say go for your weekend ride.

Police don't bother with motorcycles if you obey the traffic laws.

They're not on the lookout for expired inspection stickers.

The only time they pay attention, is at the beginning of the next year, when the inspection stickers are changed to a different color.
