two stroke penalty but you don't rehit. hit the putt as it lies after it hit the other ball. the other ball however can be placed back where it was originally.

This is what ball markers are for.  Mark the ball and you will avoid such a thing.  Two stroke penalty for hitting someone else's ball on the green.

Hockey is right (2 strokes), except that the other ball MUST be replaced at its original spot.

You can always ask another player to mark his ball. The penatly is NOT for the other player's ignorance. In golf, you are always responsible for your own actions.
