  1. Crocodiles have well-evolved metabolisms that use and store nearly the entirety of a meal. A large crocodile can last a year without eating. Newly hatched crocodiles do not need to eat for four months, surviving on the stored fat from the yolk. 60 percent of the fat in crocodile diets is stored.
